Role-relevant evaluation

How Outland.Work evaluates talent

Vetting narrows the field; it does not replace the client’s interview, references or checks appropriate to a specific engagement.

Application and experience review

Review work history, role relevance, stated skills, availability, and the information needed to understand the candidate’s fit.

Communication interview

Discuss experience, remote-work habits, written and live communication, schedule, expectations, and examples of past decisions.

Role-specific evaluation

Use work samples, walkthroughs, practical scenarios, or skills assessment appropriate to the role. The method should match the work rather than reuse one generic test.

Tool and workflow alignment

Confirm familiarity with the client’s required systems or the ability to learn them, along with expectations for documentation and secure access.

Availability and engagement fit

Confirm actual workday overlap, weekly capacity, start timing, and whether the engagement structure fits both sides.

Client interview and selection

The client validates fit, asks role-specific questions, and makes the final selection. Additional references or checks should be agreed when appropriate.
